Sneaker Spotlight: Nike SB Dunk High “Quagmire”

Nike SB Dunk High “Quagmire”

When Family Guy fans saw these Dunk High’s releasing we heard “giggity giggity goo” more than a few times. Nike SB has been known to look at popular Fox cartoons (*cough* Homers *cough*) for inspiration and the final product of this sneaker was spot on when compared to Glen Quagmire. The “lovable” friend of Peter Griffin, Quagmire is a staple piece of the franchise. His attitude and look lead us to believe he probably attempted, but failed at riding a skateboard in his youth. Sneaker Showcase: DQM x Nike Dunk High Premium Collection

DQM x Nike Dunk High Premium Pack

Dave’s Quality Meats aka DQM doesn’t sound like your typical sneaker shop, but its unique name and signature look has made it a destination for sneakerholics and non-sneaker enthusiasts that visit New York. Special “packs” are nothing new to Nike. They have been collaborating and giving shine to certain markets for many years. 2005 was the year that we saw the “Clerks” pack come about. Consisting of three waves of three sneakers apiece, reputable Nike retailers were given the opportunity to create a sneaker of their own with the “clerks” holding design control. The first wave belonged to Los Angeles who were represented by Stussy and the Blazer Mid, Union and their Air Force 180 and UNDFTD with the Dunk High NL featured here. Continue reading

Nike SB Dunk High "Marshall Amp"

If there is anything we know about Nike SB it’s that they love to pull inspiration from things they love especially music. From bands, songs and instruments the brand enjoys transforming their favorite musical subject into a hot sneaker. Following up with theme of instruments, like the “Gibson” Dunk Low released a year previously, these Dunk High’s were inspired by the Marshall Amps. Continue reading
