Whereas some shops are known for working with a specific brand, A.R.C. (Alife Rivington Club) has had successful collaborations with a variety of brands. One of the most successful was when they linked up with Nike on the classic Dunk High. Created with the phrase “Black, White, Gum & Bang” in mind, this release was another example that shows Alife knows a thing or two about sneakers.

At first glance the sneaker seems like a basic black and white build with gum outsole. But with an open catalog of materials at their disposal the team at Alife worked with materials not often seen on a sneaker. The upper mostly comprised of premium suede. But matching with the suede the other panels were created using technical materials from textile manufacture Schoeller. The materials chose used for both wind and water resistance, the Dunk High has both Cordura and Dynafil TS 70 which is an ultra-strong polyamide backing fabric and resistant to friction, water, dirt and oil repellent. The look added on the heel and tongue. Adding to the premium build is plush leather lining in matching black. To finish off the design process Alife turned to Nike’s ACG line and created the gum sole with 0.44 sticky rubber sole.
With the materials chosen the rest of the design of the Dunk High was completed with a contrasting white Swoosh with matching A.R.C. logo seal on the heel panel. Additional contrast was seen new materials and striped, non-branded tongue tag. Worthy of the Supreme tag, this was also a Tier Zero release meaning not many of these are floating around. Luckily these gems are spotted on the wikipedia.
